Kitchen floor part 3

So this weekend I went to a local flooring store and got a box of tiny Armstrong tiles (to see the colors in person) and a box of full-sized tiles that have been discontinued (read: cheap!!). I laid out the entire box of full-size tiles to see how it would look.

First of all, it was cool to see most of the old floor covered up! And secondly, this is not the right tile for our kitchen. When Seth and I were talking about the floor options yesterday he said that, since the walls are grey, we need to be careful not to have the floor be too grey because then the room will be overpowered with it. I wasn't totally in agreement at the time, but now that I see such a grey floor I completely agree. The floor needs a little more warmth and some light color in it too. Good call Seth! Onto the tiny tiles...

The box of tiny tiles was really fun, plus it was important to see the tiles in person since the way color looks on a computer screen is not always accurate. I tried a couple of combinations from my last post:

Soft Warm Grey + Field Grey (definitely too much grey)

Sandy Beach + Coaster Greige (this one is the runner up)

And finally a new combination: Sandy Beach + Earth Green:

Even though the name of the tile is Earth Green, its really not green at all...just a nice, warm neutral. Plus it is similar to the wall color but not as dark.

So, the two tiles together in the bottom left corner of this photo (Sandy Beach & Earth Green) are the ones! I think. I haven't ordered anything yet so if you've got any input, let's hear it!
